Role reversal

I am swamed with all my papers, finals, orals and resting time =P haha.. but i have to write this though... coz it's stuck in my head...

So i was watching The Ellen show during my lunch break and she was featuring Beyonce who is an amazing singer. One of the songs that she performed on the show was her new hit single "If i were a boy".

I read the lyrics again becuase i wanted to re-think about my views on the song. When i first heard that song, i was super excited about it and i loved it right away. I was agreeing to everything thing that was said. About how "if i were a boy" i could better understand how to treat a girl, that i would do things that you would do. But i somehow at that time i understood it as the girl being able to better understand relationships and that if she were in her shoes, that it would all be okay.

But when i read it again today, i thought to myself, don't we all find the opposite gender difficult to understand? We always hear how "oh man.. if only they could understand what we're going through!" or "Why can't he/she understand?, i don't get him/her at all!". It's hard to understand the opposite gender and their thoughts. Heck! it's hard enough for me to understand girls in general! i think we all think that if only we could be the other, maybe we can better understand their thoughts or prove to them that we are better. Kinda selfish huh...
