Huff & Puff
Oh my.... i'm really out of shape. I just went for a "run" ... more like a walk =PI ran for about 5 mins and i couldn't take it no longer... my heart was beating as if it was gonne jump out of my body and my throat was in PAIN! I haven't run in soooo long... like 4 years!
So half way through i decided to just walk fast =P still did some exercise...
I think i'll take it slow... i'll do fast walking and then slowly move into a jog. =D
Now i have to start working on my paper. Wish me luck! i don't even know what i'm going to do. i have so much ideas on my mind i just have to put it into words.

Mom v.s Sis v.s Friend
Now that my brother is living with me, i don't really know what to make out of it.Before we moved into the apartment together, i had all these dreams of how we could make dinner together, and how we should share the chores around the house. But sometimes dreams should just remain at dreams.
I never really thought of how difficult it would be living with a younger sibiling without parents arround. It wasn't until i heard from others multiple times of how it must be for me to be a sister, mother and friend.
Right now i'm not really sure which category i belong in or if i'm in either of the categories. But i do know that first and foremost, i will be his elder sister taking care of him. But the longer i ponder on this, the more i feel that yes, i do have to take on many roles. Not just the usual mother, sister and friend. But i also have to be a spy, detective... i feel like i'm on a secret mission to uncover some drak secret awaiting somewhere =.= (oh my, how exciting my life is )
It has honestly been tough living with my brother, but i'm hanging in there.
Today it's partially sunny. Hopefull it won't rain.

Gloom V.S Hope
I woke up today with a gloom on my face. The sky was dark, the cold air was hanging and i could hear the pitter-patter sounds of the rain drops falling against my window.Such a lazy day to just sit on a couch with a warm cup of tea and just enjoy doing nothing.
Unfortunately i couldn't do that.... had to go to class and listen to what wonderful and exciting information my profs had for me. It's always fun to go to a very interesting class and my ASIA 349 class of South East Asian Literature is one of them.
Today we had to discuss about Shirley Lim's (Malaysian writer) short stories. Some of which were pretty disturbing. A lot of incestuous stuff going on. Dad having lustful feelings on kids, Old man molesting little girl..... the whole time i was reading Shirley's work i couldn't help but wonder if she was actually abused or sexually harassed when she was a kid. A lot of her stories are filled with hate, gloom, darkness and very graphic images.
I guess many of us should be thankful that we have been able to grow up in a conducive environment that allowed for us to grow up without fear. Our parents have always been by our side guiding us in the right direction and allowing us to explore the world in caution.
Sometimes when i'm bored, especially after watching a romantic comedy, i think of what kind of husband and family i might have in the future. And you know what.... i hope to have a relationship that is similar to my parents and embrace the kids that God will bless us with. (not sure how they are gonna be... but that's always an exciting mystery right?). Looking at my parents and seeing how they are still so much in love after 23 years of marriage, that really gives me hope that maybe someday i would also be lucky enough to find a husband that would still be not bored of me after 10 years or more =P
There are good man still out there. Girls, we just have to be patient and wait for God to bring the right one to you ;) He would know which one is best for you because He created you!
It's still cold right now, i can feel the sharp cold air blowing in from my window. I think it's about 15 degrees.
Summer is over!!! Welcome Autum!

Up in the mountains
Went on the weekend i went to Whistler for a choir church retreat. The first ever retreat in our choir history. It was a really good retreat, lots of time to reflect on my past and also to think about my future and also a good time of bonding =D hehehe....
Being up on the mountains is a very relaxing feeling. Especially when you see the mountains and the sea or river at the same time. Always nice to be arround nature especially in such a grand nature.
i wanna go back and have a retreat there... or somewhere really nice again... and then play taboo and charades!!! =P sooo fun!

wasn't just me
Tonight was really interesting...Attended a "dessert" night that ended up into a serious and emotional discussion session about some issues that have been up in the air in the club.
I guess i wasn't the only one feeling disconnected from the group or felt that i my presence at the gathering didn't make a difference.
I guess this would be a little tricky as it encompasses not only social group issues but also religious views as well. It's hard to be a human being....
I know how a lot of ppl feel as i went through that many times. But i still don't know how to solve it.
Ahhh... my mind is confused an is drawing a blank.
I should be doing my indo homework.... gotta study for it as i have a quiz on monday! =(
Going to Whistler for the weekend for a church choir retreat. YAY! hopefully it'll be a good time of relaxation and lining up my priorities. =)

The Odd One Out
I don't know if you have ever experienced going into a place and feeling like you don't belong or that there is an odd vibe in the air.I was lucky enough to feel like that today.
Not sure if it was just me being too sensative or if it really was a strange vibe.
I wonder if it's becuase i refused to help out in that group that led to me being more distant from the group. I feel like i can't connect with them anymore. Too many secrets, too many "politics". Hmm.... i guess i am being too harsh but i do feel weird now being in the group.
I feel like the ugly duckling in a group of swans. Someone who just doesn't belong. I think it's time to find a new group, a new beining to things, a new type of life. Don't you? =P
I miss my girls in Singapore, i miss first and second year friends. I miss the old times. However as human beings we are called to live life and to go on and not live in the past.
But if there was a way to live in the past...i'd try it...
